PRESIDENTS REPORT – APRIL 2012
Hi to all the members of our association.
Since my last report we have held a Halter & Showmanship clinic late March which was well attended by 9 of our members. The day went well with great weather and the attendees received instruction on what to do, where to stand, what gear to use etc for both halter and showmanship
The following weekend (Saturday March 31st) the club held a clinic with Jesse MathrickAlthough we experienced an overcast start to the day by lunch time the weather had climbed to around 30 degrees, but still everyone had a great time with 10 members attending. As always Jesse’s clinics are informative and beneficial to all attendees Shaun provided a light lunch which was well appreciated by everyone
The next day (Sunday April 1) we held a “B” show with some 25 horse and rider combinations Although numbers were a little smaller than the committee would have liked, a couple of classes had 5 entries. The feature event as the Weanling/yearling halter exhibit, with 5 entries This event was sponsored by Avonsfield Park Paint and Quarter Horse stud with support of J & K performance Horses Prizes included Sashes, money and a show halter At the end of the day the High Point presentation was completed with trophies supplied and donated by J & K performance Horses, Shaun & Simone Gibbs, Christine & Irene Pedersen and Tracey Clavarino.
Please see the web site for full results, high points and sponsor information.
The show is only possible with the support of numerous staff including Jesse Mathrick (Judge), Brittany Henry (Steward), Jeanette Butterfield (Show Secretary), Graham Butterfield (Gate Marshall), Dale Porter (Announcer), Shaun Gibbs and Adrian temple (Catering), I looked after the show managers position, Richard De Groot (Arena Preparation) and several other members and visitors who pitched in to help with equipment etc. – On behalf of the association I thank everyone who was involved
We were able to secure the use of the Stratford Community Caravan for the catering and this was well used (and received) by not only the catering staff, but all attendees. During the next committee meeting we will be discussing the events for the remainder of the year so keep visiting the association’s web site for more information
Anyway enough for this month.......
